CLIENT PROFILES: ANNE VITOCCO

Like many, the relationships that I have with my client’s are extremely important. I thought it would be a nice idea to ask my past clients to share thier experience working with me. Quick snapshots of where they were at before we collaborated together, and where we ended up. Many of my clients I now truly call my friends.

Interior Design and decorating are such a personal thing that it is hard not to make a real connection with your clients. We get to know their intimate likes and dislikes and get to understand how their lives work. What they love, what they don’t love so much as well as why they see the absolute delight in celebrating their homes. Most of my clients are at home to stay. If not forever, at least long enough to make it warm and cosy and express who they are as individuals. Celebrating wonderful things like pattern, colour and family through photographs and meaningful art. The feel-good stuff!

This week I want to introduce you to one of those people people that started as client [my very first!] but also turned out as a great friend. Please meet talented and inspiring Life Coach Anne Vitocco! There she is with me above, stepping to play herself [the client] for a not so long ago photoshoot for this website. Back in 2010, I got a prompt from my Aunt to call Anne as she had just moved into a new apartment and wanted to make it a home. Over a couple of fun months, we had warmed up the place and Anne finally felt at home in her recently purchased apartment. Through a rapid period of discovery, I realised Anne wanted rich colour and a feeling of ‘life!’ in her home. Her innate Italian passion spilled into her zest for cooking, Vespa motorcycles, family and continued learning and growth in her own life, before she had embarked on helping others as a profession. I truly loved working with Anne.

Q&A with client and friend, Anne Vitocco.

AS: Anne, tell us a little about you and what you do?

AV. I am a Life Coach and speaker of mental wellness. I am a mother and grandmother and have successfully found my work life balance. It is from the space of knowing that I coach others to understand where they are now and where they would like to see themselves. Together, we work towards reaching their desired space. This may be changing the way they see themselves within their current environment, or by changing their external surroundings, eg their workplace.

AS: What was your biggest struggle before you went through the decoration process with me?

AV: Before you and I collaborated together my struggle was how to put things together. I like many styles [and I know what I like] but was unable to stay on track and keep the theme or flow going.

BEFORE: Anne’s apartment lacked any colour and you can see that there was trepidation in committing to any colour story in the beginning.

AS: How were you feeling after you went through it?

AV: I enjoyed the entire process and was happy to not have to think completely on my own! It was such a relief at completion. My apartment became a reflection of who I was and what I liked and enjoyed.

ABOVE: Mood Board for Anne. Mood boards are a great way to show the vision of the story that I put together for my cleints.

AS: What are you three favourite items that mean the most to you?

AV: I love the floating shelves in the living area and what they hold.

I love the oversized mirror in the dining area.

I love the artwork and family photos that surround me!

AS: What does home mean to you?

AV: Home means security and safety but it also is a place that i like to share with family and friends. It is a place that I am proud to show and share with others.

Home is a place that generates a warm, loving and inviting space for me and the valued people in my life.

TESTIMONIAL

"My home has become a reflection of who I am, what inspires me and a tribute to my Italian heritage. Having the ideas but not the ability to create this I called upon Adam Scougall. Together we discussed ideas, went shopping and was challenged to step out of my comfort zone. What he created for me is now my beautiful home, my space which I proudly share with my family and friends. Thank you Adam. I love my home”
