1984

I landed my first film role in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. My big moment came when I sank into quicksand — quite literally. Drama, spectacle, and storytelling entered my bloodstream early. Looking back, it was the beginning of a lifelong love for atmosphere, theatre, and visual impact.

1999

Here I am interviewing Darren Hayes from Savage Garden for Cream Magazine in 1999 — during my early days as a music writer, years before decorating found me.

2013

2008

I undertook my first serious study of colour and interior design at the International School of Colour and Design in Sydney. This is where instinct met structure — and I learned how colour, proportion, and restraint work together to create spaces that actually feel good to live in.

My first fully decorated home was published as a 10-page feature in Real Living magazine. A proper grocery-store moment! More importantly, it confirmed something I’d already learned on the ground: finished homes tell a far stronger story than ideas left half-realised.

2026

Today, I still design homes as well as work as a coach for interior decorators and designers and host the podcast Turnkey Design Talk along with my You Tube Channel - Turnkey Design Success. My focus is simple — helping people understand the art of finishing homes beautifully. Whether for clients or designers, the goal is the same: clarity, confidence, and spaces that feel truly complete.
